Quick Checkout & Extra Rewards with Spendr

What’s up Doobie fam? If you’ve been a customer for a while, you may notice that we switch debit card readers and payment processing platforms pretty frequently. What’s up with that? Well, it’s The Man, man. And it’s a total bummer. Banks are federally insured, as are the big payment processors like Visa and Mastercard. And since cannabis is federally illegal still (even though we know it shouldn’t be, duh), those bigwigs get their panties in a bunch and often crack down on those using their services for cannabis payments. So even though we’re legal and doing everything by the book as far as California and local laws are concerned, we will occasionally have to switch up our debit card processor when services get interrupted. We are thankful to have access to banking at all (some banks are cool, thanks Community First) but this is the main reason that we aren’t able to accept credit card payments as well.

Thankfully, we have a new alternative option!

We’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Spendr, the first cannabis payment and rewards app that’s totally free to use, allows you to pay from your phone, and rewards you for purchasing what you love. And those are extra rewards, folks, on top of what you’re already earning as a Doobie Dividends member. Dope!

We officially started accepting Spendr on Friday, July 19. Make sure to download the app and link your bank account before you head in to get a free $15 reward you can use instantly. You’ll also get another $10 after spending $200, and alerts for future deals. Yes, that is free money to spend on weed.

Still have some questions? We got you. Feel free to ask your budtender next time you come in, our team is definitely quick to jump on a good deal so most of us have already started using it! Or read on for a bit more about how Spendr works...

What is Spendr?

Spendr is a free, easy way to pay with your phone and earn rewards at the dispensary. New users who sign up can earn up to $25 – $15 to link a bank and $10 total for spending $200.

Once you shop at a Spendr dispensary, the store’s latest deals and discounts will be listed right in the Deals tab of the Spendr App.

Why should I choose Spendr instead of other ways to pay at the dispensary?

  1. Spendr is completely free to use, so you’ll never have to pay fees or deal with cash to buy products at the dispensary again.
  2. It’s the fastest, easiest way to pay at the dispensary. Ask to use Spendr at checkout, scan the QR code or tap the prompt on your phone to pay and you’re good to go.
  3. Access exclusive rewards and deals only available to Spendr users.
  4. Get alerts for the latest Doobie Nights deals directly in the Spendr App.

How do I get started using Spendr at Doobie Nights?

  1. Head to the App Store (Apple) or Play Store (Android) and download the relevant version of the Spendr App to your phone/mobile device.
  2. Open the app and tap Sign Up.
  3. Complete your Spendr profile then link your bank account to earn your $15 bonus reward. You’ve now unlocked the ability to pay with Spendr and earn rewards at Doobie Nights!
  4. Head into the dispensary, pick out your products and ask to pay with Spendr at checkout. You’ll scan a QR code or confirm via push notification on your phone, then you’re all set.

How exactly do I earn my new user rewards?

New users qualify for exclusive rewards to help you get started with Spendr.

First, claim your $15 reward by linking a bank account with Spendr. You’ll then be able to earn two additional $5 rewards: one when you hit $100 spent with Spendr, and the second when you hit $200.

It doesn’t end there. Check the My Rewards tab often for the latest reward offers as well as free giveaways you can enter to win Spendr rewards. You can also share your referral link to earn even more rewards to use at any Spendr dispensary – both you and your referral will receive a $5 bonus when they spend their first $100.

Where can I go to learn more about Spendr?

You can learn more about Spendr on their website, especially via the Frequently Asked Questions page. For any specific questions you still have, please reach out to Spendr directly via this link
