2020 has been an overwhelming year, but now more than ever it’s important to come together and support each other — locally and globally. Before Shelter in Place orders, Doobie Nights hosted weekly 4:20 Happy Hours on Fridays. With social distancing in place, in-store events had to pause, but the team found a new way to keep the community connected.
Partnering with Blueprints Entertainment y House Arrest Radio, Doobie Nights presented the “Shelter in Space” livestream event. Hosted from Doobie Nights and the Twerkulator bus parked outside, the event invited people to dance together virtually — Thursday, May 7th from noon until sunrise on Friday.
Despite physical distance, the spirit of the community stayed strong:
- Weekly livestreams featured DJ sets and electronic music.
- Viewers tuned in from around the world, with some streams drawing over 30,000 viewers.
- Blueprints Entertainment positioned itself as a hub for Bay Area Bass and House music, building a global community during the lockdown.
Blueprints also partnered with Cannabis Against COVID to raise funds and awareness, aiming to change cannabis policy while supporting pandemic relief efforts.
