Covid-19 has guaranteed that 2020 is pretty much going to be the weirdest 4/20 yet. Sure, with physical distancing and increased hygiene measures in play, we can’t just meet in the park, light one up and puff, puff, pass. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still hang out together and get lit af. With traditional 4/20 celebrations canceled, leave it to cannabis to keep us connected in new and innovative ways.

Presented by Weedmaps, HIGHER TOGETHER is a 4/20 celebration that aims to bring the party straight to your couch. Headlined by Wiz Khalifa, who will spin a DJ set and light up the 4:20 sesh, the virtual smoke-out features prize giveaways and performances by Berner of Cookies Fam, Tycho, Stephen Marley and Billy Ray Cyrus of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” playing an acoustic set. To celebrate 4:20 East Coast time, check out the Highstream 420 Festival, Washington DC’s infamous 4/20 celebration. Brought to you by the National Cannabis Festival and the Bay Area’s Emerald Cup, it features musical acts, online workshops, interactive panels and more. April 20, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. EST. Free.
Wanna be a part of 4/20 history? Aim high with California cannabis brand Flower Co.’s co-founder Tony Diepenbrock as he sets out to break the world record for “Most People Consuming Cannabis on Video Chat.” He hopes to get 1,000 people in a Zoom sesh that intends to be literally one for the record books. Donations go to the Last Prisoner Project, which Diepenbrock will match 100%. Tune in on April 20 at 4:20 p.m. PST. Free.
Ease into 4/20 with ganja yoga pioneer Dee Dussault for the Ganja Yoga 420 Experience, a yoga-centered weed and wellness soiree. With mini-sessions on joint-rolling, meditation, cannabis rituals, and positive thinking, this day-long event also features guests like Oakland’s first lady of hash, The Dank Duchess. April 20, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST. $12.
Even Willie Nelson is hosting a 4/20 virtual event! At 4:20 PM CT, Luck and Willie’s Reserve are bringing together artists, chefs, comedians, educators and more for 4 hours and 20 minutes of cannabis-centric entertainment on this variety show style livestream called Come and Toke It. This event also supports the Last Prisoner Project. Tune in on April 20 at 4:20pm Central and smoke with Willie.
And if you can’t wait til 4/20, Waldos Forever Fest – whose name is a nod to the group of Marin County high-schoolers that coined the term 4:20 – is livestreaming their celebration on Saturday. This pot party, hosted by Chicago’s Dispensary33 and Do312, features Shea Couleé of Rupaul’s Drag Race, Chef Angelina from Top Chef and many others.
